About the procedure
Rhinoplasty reshapes the nose to address concerns about its size, shape or symmetry and to improve overall facial balance. Dr. Khan performs cosmetic rhinoplasty for straightforward candidates, using an open approach that gives her direct visibility of the underlying structure for precise refinement of the bridge, tip and overall shape.
Her scope is deliberately defined. Patients with significant breathing or sinus concerns, complex revision needs or extensive structural restructuring are referred to an ENT surgeon or another appropriate physician, because that is where they will get the right care. A standalone septoplasty can be performed when a deviated septum is the only nasal concern.
What it addresses
- A bump or hump on the bridge
- A bulbous, drooping or under-rotated tip
- Wide nostrils (treated with alar reduction)
- A bridge that is too high or too low
- Mild nasal asymmetry
- A deviated septum, when that is the only concern
What it doesn't do
- Dr. Khan does not treat complex breathing or sinus problems or perform functional rhinoplasty. Those patients are referred to an ENT surgeon for evaluation.
- Extensive revision rhinoplasty is referred elsewhere. Minor revisions are considered case by case.
- Rhinoplasty changes the nose; it does not change the way the chin or cheeks frame it. Balance is assessed at consultation.
