Tummy tuck
Abdominoplasty repairs separated abdominal muscles and removes loose skin and stretch marks below the navel. It is often the foundation of the plan when pregnancy has changed the shape of the abdomen or the strength of the core.
Model Body · Combination surgery
Pregnancy changes the breasts and the abdomen in ways that time and training don’t always undo. A mommy makeover brings the procedures that address those changes into one plan, built around what has changed for you.
About the procedure
A mommy makeover is not a fixed package. It is a customized combination of surgical procedures that addresses the changes pregnancy and breastfeeding leave in the breasts and body, planned so the pieces work together and healing happens once. Most plans center on the abdomen and the breasts, with liposuction or other contouring added where it helps.
Dr. Khan starts with what has actually changed for you: muscle separation, loose skin, breast volume and position, and areas of fullness that affect your overall shape. From there she recommends which procedures belong in the plan, which do not, and whether one coordinated surgery or a staged approach fits your body, your recovery support and your goals.
The Empowered approach
She evaluates the whole silhouette rather than one area at a time, so the breast and abdominal plans are proportioned to each other. When procedures are planned together, she can sequence them around how each affects the others, and she keeps the total surgical scope within what is safe for you on a single day.
Her recovery planning is built around the realities of parenting. She asks about childcare, lifting and the help you have at home before surgery is scheduled, so the plan accounts for how you will actually heal, not just what the surgery involves.
A mommy makeover can be performed under general anesthesia or, for appropriate candidates with lighter combinations, with an awake approach using the tumescent technique. Combinations that include a tummy tuck with abdominal muscle repair are typically done under general anesthesia.
The right approach depends on the procedures in your plan, your medical history and your comfort. Dr. Khan reviews both options at consultation and recommends the one that fits your plan.

Model What to expect
About an hour with Dr. Khan to talk through the changes you have noticed, examine the breasts, abdomen and body contour, and decide which procedures belong in your plan and whether to combine or stage them.
A written plan listing each component procedure, the anesthesia approach, pre-operative instructions and recovery support to arrange at home. Pricing for the combination is reviewed with your plan.
The procedures are performed in a planned sequence as one coordinated surgery. Dr. Khan reviews the anesthesia plan with you beforehand and keeps total operating time within safe limits.
The first phase involves rest, compression garments and help with household tasks and children. Activity returns in stages at scheduled follow-up visits, and established surgical patients have a direct way to reach Dr. Khan after hours.
Recovery
Expect the first week or two to be the most demanding, since you are recovering from more than one procedure at once. You will need help with children, lifting and household tasks, and you will walk gently from early on to support circulation. Light activity and desk work return first, with core work, exercise and lifting children cleared in stages over the following weeks as Dr. Khan evaluates your healing.
Recovering once from a combined surgery is generally more efficient than recovering separately from each procedure, though the initial phase is more intensive. Swelling settles gradually, scars fade over the first year and beyond, and the final shape takes several months to fully declare itself.
Risks and limitations
Every surgery carries risk. These are the ones most relevant to this procedure; Dr. Khan reviews your personal risk profile and the alternatives with you before anything is scheduled.

FAQ
Every answer here is general information. Your own plan, risks and recovery are discussed in person at your consultation.
The most common combination is a tummy tuck with a breast lift or breast augmentation, often with liposuction of the waist, flanks or hips. Some patients add an arm lift, thigh lift or other contouring. There is no set menu. Dr. Khan builds the plan around your anatomy and goals, and she may recommend fewer procedures than you expected if that is the better fit.
Dr. Khan generally recommends waiting at least six to twelve months after childbirth and three to six months after you stop breastfeeding, so your body, hormones and weight have settled. If you plan more children, it is usually better to wait until your family is complete, because a later pregnancy can affect the muscle repair and breast results. If you are done, there is no need to wait years.
For appropriately selected patients, yes. Safety comes from careful screening, a thorough pre-operative health assessment, limiting total surgery time, sequencing procedures thoughtfully, and measures such as compression devices and early walking to reduce clot risk. Dr. Khan may recommend staging if the combined scope would push past what is safe for you.
The first phase is more intensive because you are healing from several procedures at once, and you will need real help at home. The total downtime is usually shorter than scheduling each surgery back to back, since you go through one recovery instead of several. Dr. Khan maps out restrictions, including when you can lift your children again, before surgery.
Lighter combinations, such as liposuction with a smaller breast or contouring procedure, may be suitable for an awake approach using the tumescent technique. Plans that include a tummy tuck with muscle repair are typically performed under general anesthesia. Dr. Khan reviews which approach fits your specific plan.
The cost depends on which procedures are combined, the extent of each, anesthesia time and facility fees, so it varies from one plan to the next. Dr. Khan provides a detailed, itemized estimate for your combination at consultation. Financing is available through Cherry, PatientFi and CareCredit.
